Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, playbooks, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST frameworks
- Stay current on emerging threats and threat intelligence through research and continuous learning
- Generate executive-level security reports and metrics for leadership review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CEH required; GIAC preferred
- Proficiency with security tools: SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure situations
- Experience with security automation tools (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
