Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM systems and security logs for suspicious activities, triggering immediate incident response protocols
- Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches, including malware analysis and threat hunting
- Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Develop comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Create detailed security documentation, incident reports, and remediation plans
- Stay current on emerging threats and countermeasures through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, or Sentinel) and threat intelligence tools
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security
- Experience with vulnerability scanning (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats under pressure
