Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of malware, phishing, and intrusion attempts
- Develop and implement security controls for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Generate executive-level security reports and remediation plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden systems against emerging threats
- Stay current on MITRE ATT&CK framework and zero-day vulnerabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification required
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work rotating shifts in 24/7 security operations environment
