Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts via SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nessus and Burp Suite
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation efforts
- Analyze network traffic patterns to detect anomalous behavior using Wireshark and Zeek
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
- Implement zero-trust architecture principles across cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security in CI/CD pipelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with hands-on SIEM experience
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency in scripting (Python/Bash) for automation tasks
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and GDPR/CCPA compliance
- Experience with cloud security tools (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel)
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in remote setting
