Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across enterprise networks using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and document detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and execute security awareness training programs for employees
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for threat correlation
- Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure incident response environment
