Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and provide detailed incident response reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security compliance with NIST and ISO standards
- Stay current with emerging threats and technologies through continuous learning and research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH/GCIH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation tools
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security principles
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical security events
- Valid US driver's license for occasional client site visits
