Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation measures
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and incident response procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence to enhance detection capabilities
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security orchestration platforms
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Security certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC) preferred
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats and make quick decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration
