Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for suspicious network activity and security events
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents using advanced analysis techniques
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Develop incident response plans and lead breach containment activities
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across hybrid environments
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or security monitoring
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in threat intelligence frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and compliance frameworks
- Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and forensic software
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize high-impact security events
- Valid NYS driver's license for occasional client site visits
