Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify and respond to sophisticated cyber threats
- Conduct proactive threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK framework to uncover latent vulnerabilities
- Lead incident response coordination during security breaches, including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and post-mortem reports
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to implement and optimize security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nessus and Burp Suite
- Stay current on emerging threats and regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Expertise in network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and endpoint protection platforms
- Proficiency with security automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data across multiple sources
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and executive reporting
- Eligible for U.S. government security clearance (required for client projects)
