Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, networks, and applications for threats using SIEM tools
- Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and develop remediation plans
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Develop incident response playbooks and conduct security awareness training
- Generate comprehensive security reports for stakeholders and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in security operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation tools
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architecture
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to document complex security findings
- Ability to work independently with flexible hours and manage competing priorities
