Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks and breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of network systems
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (NIST, HIPAA)
- Generate comprehensive security incident reports and executive summaries
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or analyst roles
- Industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize incidents under pressure
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
