Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security protocols to protect network infrastructure and sensitive data
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations (NIST, HIPAA)
- Document security incidents and create detailed forensic reports for stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Provide cybersecurity training to employees to enhance organizational awareness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security operations
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with incident response frameworks and threat intelligence platforms
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
- Valid Texas driver's license (required for occasional client site visits)
