Responsibilities
- Security Monitoring & Response: Monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to suspicious activities in real-time.
- Incident Management: Lead the investigation, containment, and eradication of cybersecurity incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure before malicious actors do.
- Security Controls: Configure, manage, and maintain firewalls, endpoint protection systems (EDR), and access controls to enforce the security policy.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist in ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NIST, SOC 2, and HIPAA by preparing documentation and facilitating audits.
- Threat Intelligence: Analyze global threat intelligence feeds to stay ahead of emerging attack vectors and adjust defenses accordingly.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst role or related IT security position.
- Certifications: Possession of CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys), and network security appliances.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze complex data, troubleshoot issues, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings to stakeholders and non-technical teams.
