Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and incident response plans
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST/CIS frameworks
- Generate executive-level security reports and metrics for stakeholder communication
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Expertise in network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Proficiency with threat intelligence platforms and security automation tools
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security events
- Excellent written communication for documentation and reporting
- Ability to work independently in remote settings with minimal supervision
