Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols
- Investigate security breaches, document findings, and recommend remediation actions
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Develop incident response plans and conduct regular security drills
- Stay updated on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat detection
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex security data
- Experience with incident response procedures and forensic investigation
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA)
