Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity and potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and coordinate incident response procedures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security controls to protect network infrastructure and data assets
- Generate detailed security reports and executive summaries for stakeholders
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other security frameworks
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in a SOC or similar environment
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
