Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for anomalous activity
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware attacks and breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop and implement security policies and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance network defenses and compliance frameworks
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive summaries
- Stay current on emerging threats and countermeasures through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in threat detection/response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex security data
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST, SANS)
- Knowledge of compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR)
