Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and provide detailed forensic reports
- Implement vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response plans and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to enforce security controls and ensure regulatory compliance (NIST, FISMA)
- Lead threat hunting initiatives using MITRE ATT&CK framework methodology
- Provide security awareness training to staff and develop security policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Active CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification required
- Expertise in network security tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection)
- Strong understanding of cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust principles
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance (if applicable)
