Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Develop and implement incident response plans for security breaches and data compromises
- Collaborate with IT teams to enforce security policies and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Create detailed security documentation and executive reports on threat landscapes and mitigation strategies
- Research emerging threats and recommend proactive security enhancements to infrastructure
- Lead security awareness training for employees to strengthen organizational resilience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity analysis with hands-on experience in threat detection and incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH) or demonstrable expertise in security frameworks
- Proficiency in network security tools (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data and prioritize threats
- Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder presentations
- Ability to work autonomously with flexible scheduling while meeting SLA requirements
- Valid driver's license for occasional on-site client visits in Northern California
