The Role
You will be responsible for architecting and implementing 2D interactive tools, visualizations, and games that run smoothly across all modern browsers. You will push the boundaries of the Canvas API and SVG to deliver experiences that are both visually stunning and highly performant.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance 2D rendering engines using HTML5 Canvas, SVG, and WebGL (2D context).
- Create interactive data visualizations and custom UI components that engage users.
- Optimize rendering loops and asset loading strategies to ensure 60fps animations on a wide range of devices.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate mockups into responsive, interactive front-end code.
- Maintain and refactor legacy codebases to improve performance and scalability.
- Write comprehensive unit tests to ensure code reliability and correctness.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development, specifically focusing on 2D graphics.
- Deep expertise in the HTML5 Canvas API, SVG, and CSS3 animations.
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), including closures, promises, and async/await.
- Experience with performance profiling tools (Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse) and memory management.
- Familiarity with game engines like Phaser or Pixi.js is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong grasp of mathematics relevant to computer graphics.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Fine Arts, or a related field.
