Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust network security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Conduct proactive threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing across hybrid cloud environments
- Lead incident response operations including forensic analysis and containment of security breaches
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, and Ansible
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor SIEM alerts and triage potential security incidents with 24/7 rotation support
- Document security policies, procedures, and architecture diagrams in compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering with focus on threat detection and response
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification (required)
- Expertise in cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in security tools: Splunk, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, and Nessus
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Experience with zero-trust architecture implementation and identity management solutions
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (must be eligible)
