We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team in Sacramento, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across our on-premise and cloud systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy updates, manage backups, and troubleshoot critical issues in real-time.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Monitor, maintain, and optimize Linux and Windows Server environments to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
- Cloud Administration: Manage and automate AWS and Azure cloud resources, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, and VPC configurations.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and manage firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts to streamline deployment processes and reduce manual errors.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design and oversee backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and facilitating rapid recovery in the event of a disaster.
- User Support: Serve as the Tier 2/3 support lead for complex technical issues, providing guidance to junior administrators and help desk staff.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configuration changes, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Engineer.
- Operating Systems: In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy) and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS or Azure, and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, RHCSA, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator preferred.
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
