Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and zero-trust architectures
- Lead incident response activities for security breaches, including root cause analysis and containment strategies
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, and Ansible
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to security awareness training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles with hands-on implementation of security controls
- Deep expertise in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and cloud security frameworks
- Professional certifications: CISSP, CEH, or CISM required; CCSP or GSEC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and container security technologies
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent projects
