Responsibilities
- Monitor & Detect: Continuously monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential breaches and vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents, including malware analysis, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications before malicious actors can exploit them.
- Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOC 2 requirements through audits and policy enforcement.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) within the network environment to stay ahead of cybercriminals.
- Security Awareness: Train and educate staff on security best practices to reduce human error and social engineering risks.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in cybersecurity, incident response, or a related role.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Tools: Strong working knowledge of SIEM platforms, forensics tools, and threat intelligence feeds.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
