Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses before they are exploited.
- Incident Response: Lead or participate in incident response efforts, including forensics, containment, and eradication of cyber attacks.
- Security Architecture: Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and zero-trust architecture.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and NIST frameworks through audits and policy enforcement.
- Education & Training: Conduct security awareness training for employees and develop documentation regarding security best practices.
Qualifications
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting; experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Tools: Strong working knowledge of SIEM, EDR, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Location: Must be willing to work from our Houston, TX office (Hybrid model available).
