Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools like Splunk and QRadar.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and VPNs.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement secure coding practices and secure architecture.
- Provide security awareness training to employees to reduce human error.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, incident response, or a similar role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Proven experience with vulnerability scanners and security information management (SIM) systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
