Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and networks for intrusions, suspicious activities, and potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Respond to security incidents, document findings, and implement remediation strategies
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements
- Analyze security logs and generate comprehensive incident reports
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and defense technologies
- Assist in security awareness training for staff members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
- Industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH) preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time role
