Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, alerts, and logs 24/7 during the night shift to detect anomalies and potential threats.
- Investigate and triage security incidents, vulnerabilities, and malware infections with urgency.
- Analyze traffic patterns and SIEM data to identify malicious activity patterns.
- Execute incident response plans and coordinate with the day-shift team for containment and remediation.
- Conduct routine patch management reviews and security hardening of endpoints.
- Document all security events, incidents, and resolutions in the SIEM and ticketing systems.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network administration.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight, or LogRhythm) and threat intelligence platforms.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high alertness during night shifts.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and incident response methodologies.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly preferred.
