Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Infrastructure: Assist in the real-time monitoring of security systems, SIEM alerts, and network traffic for potential threats.
- Incident Response Support: Participate in the triage and documentation of security incidents under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Vulnerability Management: Support the identification and reporting of software and hardware vulnerabilities within the organization.
- Security Compliance: Help maintain compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- User Support: Educate staff on security best practices and assist with the deployment of security patches and updates.
- Threat Analysis: Analyze threat intelligence reports to understand emerging cyber threats and adapt defenses accordingly.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Networking Basics: A fundamental understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) is required.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortability navigating command-line interfaces and basic operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-Starter: A strong desire to learn new technologies and obtain industry certifications (CompTIA Security+ is a plus).
