Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in the SIEM environment (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to identify potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and analyze results to recommend remediation steps.
- Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents and system breaches.
- Perform routine security audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Document security incidents, findings, and system configurations accurately.
- Support the configuration and management of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions.
- Collaborate with the IT department to integrate security best practices into daily operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+ certification is highly preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, OSI model, and common protocols.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and basic scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Understanding of the CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability) and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data logs.
- US Citizenship required for eligibility to obtain government contracts (if applicable).
