Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms for security alerts and investigate potential incidents
- Assist in implementing security controls and best practices across network infrastructure
- Document security events and incident reports using industry-standard tools
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Support compliance initiatives for NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate security gaps
- Stay updated on emerging threats and defensive techniques
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CompTIA Security+ or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to work in a 24/7 security operations environment (rotating shifts)
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
