Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Assist in incident response procedures including log analysis and evidence collection
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing under guidance
- Document security findings in compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Participate in security awareness training for employees
- Assist with patch management and system hardening initiatives
- Support forensic investigations and threat hunting activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Basic understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of common security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
