Responsibilities
- Monitor security operations center (SOC) dashboards to detect and analyze potential cyber threats
- Investigate security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and document incident reports
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under senior guidance
- Assist in implementing security controls and network hardening measures
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Participate in incident response drills and tabletop exercises
- Conduct basic log analysis and forensic investigations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent knowledge)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and basic system administration
- Understanding of common attack vectors (phishing, malware, DDoS)
- Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation tasks
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting and documentation
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 security operations coverage
