Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM tools
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing on network systems
- Document security incidents and maintain incident response logs
- Assist with implementing security controls and compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with SOC team members during security investigations
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats and defense techniques
- Participate in security awareness training for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or similar foundational certification preferred
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
