Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Assist with incident response documentation and remediation procedures
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Generate daily security reports and maintain compliance documentation
- Participate in tabletop exercises and security awareness campaigns
- Research emerging threats and contribute to threat intelligence briefings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent coursework
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems and command-line tools
- Understanding of NIST frameworks and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 Security Operations Center
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
