Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious network activity
- Analyze logs and alerts to identify potential security breaches and vulnerabilities
- Assist in incident response procedures including containment and remediation
- Document security events and maintain incident response reports
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Participate in security awareness training and phishing simulation exercises
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems
- Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS) and compliance standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Active pursuit of cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CEH, SSCP)
