Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk/SolarWinds) for security alerts and anomalies
- Perform initial triage and investigation of cybersecurity incidents
- Document security events using NIST frameworks and ticketing systems
- Conduct vulnerability scans and remediation tracking
- Assist with phishing simulation campaigns and user security awareness
- Participate in tabletop exercises and incident response drills
- Generate daily/weekly security activity reports for leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Associate certification (or commitment to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Knowledge of common security tools (Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
