Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Analyze security alerts and logs from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Security Controls: Configure, maintain, and update firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network and application architecture.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization remains compliant with relevant regulations such as NIST, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS through audits and policy enforcement.
- Risk Assessment: Assess the security posture of new technologies and processes before implementation to prevent security gaps.
- Reporting: Produce detailed incident reports and security dashboards for executive leadership to communicate risk status effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security, network security, or a related IT role.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
- Tools: Experience with security tools such as FireEye, Snort, IDS/IPS, and SIEM platforms.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
