Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms during weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware and intrusion attempts
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies
- Participate in weekend on-call rotations for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with SOC operations
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols and architectures
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and malware analysis
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site in Houston
