Responsibilities
- Monitor 24/7 security operations center (SOC) alerts during weekend shifts using Splunk and QRadar
- Investigate and remediate cybersecurity incidents including malware, phishing, and DDoS attacks
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing on cloud/on-premise environments
- Generate executive-level security reports and compliance documentation for NIST/ISO frameworks
- Collaborate with network engineers to implement zero-trust architecture principles
- Lead tabletop exercises and incident response drills for weekend scenarios
- Maintain and optimize security automation scripts for SOC efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on SOC experience with weekend/shift work exposure
- CompTIA Security+ CE, CISSP, or GIAC certification required
- Expert proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS systems, and EDR platforms
- Deep knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat hunting methodologies
- Experience with AWS/Azure security services and cloud-native protection tools
- Strong written communication skills for security reporting and incident documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during off-peak hours
