Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for real-time threat detection and incident response
- Conduct forensic analysis of security events using tools like Wireshark and EnCase
- Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during security incidents and disaster recovery drills
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive summaries for leadership
- Stay current with emerging threats via threat intelligence feeds and industry research
- Assist in developing security policies and procedures for night shift operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations or cybersecurity analysis
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CEH, or Security+ required
- Proficiency in network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in high-pressure environments
- Availability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
