Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems 24/7 to detect and analyze potential cyber threats
- Investigate security incidents using forensic tools and establish containment procedures
- Execute vulnerability assessments and penetration testing during off-peak hours
- Collaborate with day shift teams to ensure seamless security handovers and documentation
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Generate detailed incident reports and recommend remediation actions
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with night shift preference
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CEH required
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence tools
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security
- Excellent written communication skills for incident reporting
- Ability to work independently under pressure during overnight hours
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
