The Opportunity:
You will be responsible for defending our infrastructure against cyber threats, analyzing security data, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure during active incidents.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware analysis and phishing attempts.
- Perform regular vulnerability scans and risk assessments to maintain a secure network environment.
- Configure and manage firewall rules, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed logs for audit trails.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices.
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other relevant frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certification preferred: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC.
- 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and network protocols.
- Experience with incident response methodologies and forensics.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python or PowerShell) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
