Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor security alerts, logs, and events using SIEM tools to identify and mitigate potential breaches in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and implement remediation strategies.
- Incident Response: Lead and coordinate incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery from cyber attacks.
- Network Defense: Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs to ensure secure network architecture.
- Compliance: Ensure organizational compliance with industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies and procedures for the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: Active certification such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network security.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar), Windows/Linux server administration, and TCP/IP networking.
- Tools: Familiarity with scripting languages (Python or PowerShell) for automation and threat hunting.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
