Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and system logs to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure.
- Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with incident response teams to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Document security policies and procedures to maintain a secure operating environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), PowerShell, and scripting languages.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
- Location: Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to commute to Houston, TX.
