Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, Azure Sentinel) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage remediation efforts to reduce attack surfaces.
- Enforce network security policies and manage access controls (NAC, MFA) to prevent unauthorized access.
- Investigate and contain security incidents, documenting findings and leading post-incident reviews.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (NIST, FISMA) and internal security frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are strongly desired.
- 3+ years of experience in a SOC, GRC, or Threat Intelligence role.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (or willingness to do so).
