Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring network traffic, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security threats. You will act as the first line of defense, ensuring our systems remain resilient against evolving cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within the Security Operations Center (SOC) for potential threats.
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and patch management to mitigate risks.
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents in real-time to minimize damage.
- Implement and enforce strict access control policies for remote and on-premise systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design secure network architectures.
- Prepare and present detailed incident reports and risk analyses to management.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and compliance regulations (e.g., NY State, HIPAA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in network security or a related role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds) and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with high accountability.
