Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and manage firewall rules, network security controls, and VPN configurations.
- Develop, maintain, and test incident response plans and disaster recovery procedures.
- Perform regular security audits and compliance checks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
- Collaborate with IT engineering teams to patch vulnerabilities and improve overall security posture.
- Document security incidents, trends, and findings for management reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC, or network defense.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and encryption technologies.
- Proficiency with security tools including IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance is a plus.
