Job Description
We are looking for a talented System Administrator to join our elite team in Washington, DC. This is an immediate hire position for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
As a System Administrator, you will serve as the backbone of our IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our systems. You will be responsible for managing complex server environments, implementing robust security measures, and providing top-tier technical support to our stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premise Windows Server and Linux environments to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN services.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, including firewall configurations and patch management.
- Collaborate with cloud teams to manage Azure and AWS infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve hardware and software issues.
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planning exercises.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and end-users.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a System Administrator in a corporate or federal environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Subnetting).
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
