As a key member of our distributed team, you'll architect scalable systems, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to high-impact projects serving clients nationwide. Our weekend shift (Sat-Sun 8AM-4PM) offers unique opportunities for focused development while maintaining weekday flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems using Java/Python and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Lead weekend sprint planning and code reviews for cross-functional teams
- Optimize performance for high-traffic applications serving Texas and East Coast markets
- Collaborate with Boston and Texas teams via agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
- Mentor junior engineers through weekend pair programming sessions
- Document architecture decisions and contribute to technical wikis
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation with scheduled weekend coverage
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in full-stack development with Java, Python, or Node.js
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong background in designing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Experience working in distributed teams across multiple time zones
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical certification
- Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for clean, maintainable code
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
